The Victims' Code of Practice (VCOP) Scrutiny Panel aims to ensure that services that victims have received adhere to the 12 rights victims have, as set out in the VCOP.
In order to do so, the group meets quarterly, made up of all statutory agencies, as well as specialised victims' services as required, and reviews a selection of cases that have been through the court process in Gloucestershire.
The objective of the panel is to provide the Victim and Witness Group, which feeds into the Local Criminal Justice Board, with independent feedback to ensure victims are receiving their rights to a high standard, and any issues can be addressed.
