Nick Evans is the Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Gloucestershire and was appointed by PCC Chris Nelson in July 2022.
Nick leads on the Commissioner’s priority of taking a public health approach to crime prevention, working with County partners like our councils and voluntary sector to tackle the ‘causes of the causes’ of crime. He is the Chairman of the County-wide community safety board Safer Gloucestershire which leads on this work, and in August 2022, Nick became the first Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner in the country to take the lead of a Combating Drugs Partnership. He is also a member of the re-formed Gloucestershire Road Safety Partnership.
Prior to becoming Deputy PCC, Nick was a public policy and communications professional in both the public and private sector, including as Special Advisor to the Mayor of the West of England and as Head of Communications to the Attorney General. He is also the Conservative District Councillor for the Tidenham ward in the Forest of Dean and a former Special Constable in the Metropolitan Police.
