Following a robust interview process, Police and Crime Commissioner Chris Nelson has selected Katy Barrow-Grint as his Preferred Candidate to be the next Chief Constable of Gloucestershire Constabulary.
As the PCC’s Preferred Candidate, she will be required to attend the Police and Crime Panel on Friday 20 November for a confirmation hearing, and pass the relevant vetting process before being appointed into the role officially.
Katy is currently the Deputy Chief Constable of Gloucestershire Constabulary.
Commissioner Chris Nelson said: “Katy brings a wealth of experience to this role, which will be essential to tackle all the issues raised in the Constabulary’s latest PEEL report from His Majesty’s Inspectorate. We need to see a wide range of performance improvements, delivered at pace, that are victim focused. This will ensure we build on our reputation as the second-best force in England and Wales for public trust and confidence.”
