About the project:

 To reduce the numbers of young people going missing – by identifying and working with or for this cohort reducing those that are repeat MISPERs (missing persons) over the year  To reduce the number of young people going missing across the county by working in partnership with police and social care to identify those most at risk  To partner with the Police, Social Care and Health Services to effectively identify young people who go missing or run away from home or care so they are kept safe and receive the immediate and ongoing support they need from a suitably skilled and experienced practitioner  To engage young people and assess their health, social and welfare needs as early as possible in line with the Gloucestershire Joint Protocol for Children and Young People that Run Away and go Missing from Home or Care  To provide an independent return home interview (rhi)for young people that go missing – by someone independent, skilled with expertise in engaging vulnerable children and young people  To recognise all risk factors that can affect a missing young person (safeguarding, child sexual exploitation, substance misuse, offending) through accurate recording on one system (Liquid Logic) so that we can better identify trends and allocate resources appropriately  To provide up to date information and advice to colleagues in social care and the police dealing with missing young people and sharing our experience and knowledge to support staff across the wider YST.
