About the project:

The Frith Youth Centre has been providing a safe and supportive environment for the past 40 years. The centre is a focal point in this rural community. The youth club takes place three evenings per week throughout the year providing fun activities, support and guidance to the young people of the area. We actively encourage the young people to come by going out into the local parks and hang out spots and handing out leaflets inviting the young people to come. There are four members of trained staff supported by volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds. With limited public transport in this rural area the centre is a much-valued resource. On a Saturday there is a youth café which is supported by the youth workers. Young people can work in the café and gain qualifications such as food hygiene and first aid training giving them real work experience to put on their CVs. Members of the public can come to this café strengthening relationships between older and younger people.
